Photography and the book is a well established form but how the book is produced and distributed is now changing. This panel explores the impact of digital technology and online distribution on the practice and process of making photography books,
commercial and independent publishing, and the activity of collecting. Speakers include: Wout Berger (Artist), Chris Boot (Independent Publisher). Robin Goldberg (Senior VP, Blurb) and Michael Mack (Co-publisher SteidlMACK). Chair: Martin Parr.

Includes a special workshop screening of the film, How to Make a Book with Steidl. This film focuses on the working life of Gerhard Steidl who, over 40 years ago, set up the world renowned photography publishing house, Steidl. Includes: Joel Sternfeld, Robert Frank, Ed Ruscha, Robert Adams, John Cohen, Günter Grass and many others. Director, screenplay, photography, sound: Jörg Adolph and Gereon Wetzel.
